I am not a liberal but the reason that I see that Iraq is a bad situation is very simple. We as a nation of people was told an untruth and then told one untruth after another to simply varify the reason for being in another country trying to stuff our way of life down the mouths of the people of that country. Historically they have been warring since biblical times and when Islam entered the scene, then it became an area of total chaos. The funds to keep that "war" going could be used for by far better things than sending our citizens to be killed by people who really don't want us there. Three billion dollars a week could buy one huge train load of education materials for the children of citizens of this country. We should be over in Africa trying to do away with the genocide that is going on there and not worry about Wal-Mart and many other companies getting very cheap labor in China. Can you Say "Oh ****" in Chinese? You had better start learning Chinese because you will need it.
You had better start studying Thomas Jefferson and thinking what he would say about what is going on about our liberties. I have been forced to give up too many liberties to varify some Conservative idea that some people are our responsibility and that we should control the oil fields of the middle eastern country. Yes oil is the reason why we are there no other reason. Think about why Bush and friends want to control the area. How much do they own in oil stocks.
The war should never have happened and this country should get out as soon as possible.

Liberals don't want to surrender, they want to begin the withdrawal of troops. The Iraqis need an incentive to get things moving on their own.
As far as surrendering you make it seem like we would lose the war. We already won the war in a stunning 3 week campaign the likes of which the world has never seen.
Now a state of sectarian violence exists, bordering on civil war. American troops are trained in warfare, not police work. They are trained to shoot the enemy, not deal with civilians. They are not equipped to handle this job.
On the other hand, the Iraqis have had 4years to get a defense force in place, and have done squat. Their politicians are individually supporting different factions. They don't want this to end until their particular faction wins.
Today the Sunnis tried to blow up the VP.
Before you ask silly questions I suggest you go to a news source other than Fox, and read up on what's going on over there. You are obviously misinformed.

Surrender what?? Can anyone explain what Bush's "mission" is, because he's never explained it to the American people?? Perhaps if he did, they would understand why we're stuck in a mess and our CIC won't get us out of it?!
Why are 3000 lost lives considered a good thing?? Has anyone ever considered what effect this has had on the families of these lost lives?? Why don't you ask them what they think should be happening? Not that it would matter to Bush, considering he doesn't seem to care what the public, that put him in office, has to say about anything regarding our situation in Iraq. GWOT seems to focus only on Iraq.....why aren't we at war anywhere other than the Middle East??

3000+ that died in a war based on lies, and what has been gained from it? Is OBL gone? NO! Has terrorism ceased? NO! Are we safer now than in 2001? NO!, in fact hostilities toward the US have increased! I don't think the families of those who died would take much comfort in your statement that it is such "low casualties". If we do pull out, "who" exactly are we surrendering to? Iraqis?, Terrorists? The civil war and conflicts will continue, whether or not the US has troops there. Besides, I thought it was already "Mission Accomplished", why are we still there? FYI, it isn't just liberals who want to pull out now, get the facts straight.

You're apparently too young to remember Grenada.
The point is that every single one of those 3000 dead and the tens of thousands more wounded (who are also casualties whether you recognize them or not) has a name, a face, friends, family a life and a set of hopes and dreams that has been altered by a tragic mistake. These aren't pawns on a chessboard, these are people and they should be seen as just as valuable as the people who hide behind them.
Is this cause worth your life? Since you are sitting at home, I would guess no. Why is it worth 3000 others' lives?

It's easy to defeat a country with no weapons other than rifles and hand-made bombs. But, if you keep up with world events and the news, the situation is changing thanks to Iran, Russia and the world's arm dealers who seem to be supplying the insurgents with better weaponry. The body count will rise - both American and Iraqi....

How can we surrender when 'mission accomplished'? Seems to me that we need to let their government take over their own country now...and WAY more than 3000 people died. You haven't added in everyone who was killed who wasn't wearing a soldier's uniform.

Thats 3000 US deaths, you don't mention the 600,000+ dead Iraqis, the UK, Canadian and other soldiers that have given their lives. But, of course, they don't matter because you're a Republican and you can't see anything of value beyond the borders of the good ol' USofA. Wake the f+ck up!!!!!!!!!!!

we attacked a country with a population of only 26 million people. They had no military. They had no air force, no navy, and very few troops. They had no WM D's. No missiles to fight back. Put it in perspective and I would say it looks like a huge failure.
