No its not just you. Americans have a wonderful variety of foods.

My friends from the UK have seemed quite fascinated by rather commonplace foods: tacos, enchiladas, Jolly Rancher candies, chili, cheese dip, and many other things. They were utterly baffled by marshmallow creme and peanut butter sandwiches at first, but then came to love them (it's a regional US thing, and many Americans don't eat this). It's fun watching people discover new things. Part of the varied cuisine here is due to the heavy ethnic mixing (the whole "melting pot" phenomenon). But I've also been told that there are many types of foods that are better in the UK, so it's a tradeoff. And I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard my overseas friends complain that you can't get a decent cup of tea in the US.

Yep we do but also look at how many of us are over weight! I would rather eat bland food than pack on 10-15 lbs. Twinkies are good but really sweet after a few...so I stick to one but i could not tell you the last time I had one. You should try Mexican food in Texas it rocks!!!!

Twinkies are something else entirely! iThe best way to describe it is like a mini roll that keeps growing with creme with every bite you take. Grim and you can feel the fat pouring from your skin but would I have another one? Hell yeah!!
(saying that, i bourght two but gave the other away after that episode!)

Yes-their food is far better than ours!! When we went over there a couple of years ago we got hooked on Jerky,Biscuits & gravy, slaw etc...and my fave 'Dots' which I just can't find over here. I've been doing a lot of cooking involving American recipes lately & just today we bought an American cookbook. Can't wait to go back later this year-will probably double in weight through having to eat everything!!!!

They certainly have tastier food than the UK. It's understandable why there are so many fat Americans. After my first visit to the US, i came home 20 pounds heavier.

American food is derived from different cultures, twinkie
and girls scouts cookies are what we class as junk food.and you can also become obese.

I've had guests from England stay with me. They loved our cuts of beef and pork. They couldn't get Cheeze Whiz, Kraft Dinner cheese powder, or creme corn, (only by special order at Herod's, for the corn.)
