Have you ever lost weight playing DDR? I played it for years but then stopped due to not having time. I use to be really thin, but now I want to get back on track since I've gained a few pounds. I don't know if DDR really works and thats how I stayed thin, just wondering if this has ever worked for anyone? I've started playing workout mode each day for about 150 calories, for two weeks but no results yet.

As an avid, AVID DDR player, I use the "workout mode" option.

I've found that if I play DDR for x amount of time, x amount of songs, or x amount of calories, along with eating healthy, has helped me shed some pounds.

Give it some time, sometimes the body builds muscle before the pounds shed.

Good luck!

ok, playing DDR and burning 150 calories will do nothing if you sit on the couch afterwards and "reward" that "hard" workout with a bag of fatty potato chips!

You should definitely keep up the DDR because it provides numerous health benefits. However, you also need to reduce on junk food and monitor your calories. A quick way to figure out caloric needs is to multiple your bodyweight. roughly

bodyweight * 17 = calories to gain 1 lb / week
bodyweight * 15 = calories to maintain current weight
bodyweight * 13 = calories to lose 1 lb / week

so if you weight 175 lbs and you want to lose about 1 lb per week.

175 * 13 = 2275 calories. you should readjust every month or so depending on your weight losses... for example, at the end of the month you weigh 170 and you still want to lose about 1 lb per week

170 * 13 = 2210 calories

Well, DDR is an aerobics exercise. If it makes you move enough to sweat, you can burn some pounds.

Of course, if you want it to work more quickly, remember to lift some weights, too. More muscle burns more fat.

Lastly, and this IS THE HARDEST, is to let go of Soda. i know it's hard, i can't even do it, but the high fructose corn syrup adds so many sugars to your system its a miracle we don't all have diabetes. i'm still gunna drink it, but i feel more guilty about it :(
