AMD all the way my friend ..AMD have allways been way ahead as far as reliability and performance.I have had many computers and i also build and fix computers for my friends and family.Everyone i know who has a puter with Intel inside seem to allways have problems with speed..they allways say to me "my computer seems to be running slow" sound familiar..anyone who has an AMD processor seem to hardly ever have problems..I just got my first laptop by Dell and it has a Centrino Dual core system and my home computer wich only has a single AMD processor is still faster than my Dell.

You would have to be more specific.
The Core Duo and the Turion 64 X2 have several different versions with different clock speeds and cache memory.
Generally, if it is the Core Duo and not the Core 2 Duo, then the Turion should out perform it.
If it is the Core 2 Duo, then it will out perform the similarly clocked Turion.

It really depends on the speed of the processor and the cache it has. The more cache, the better. Since they are both duo cores, either one should do fine.

HELLL NO... the DUEL CORE processor is better because the software for x64 processors is hard to find or doesn't exist at all... if you choose x64 proc... then all the software you install must be for x64 or it will not work... i have a x64 proc... and use it as a normal proc because i had trouble finding software.... if u choose the duel-core proc... then u can still use the software for any normal proc... x64 was lauched because microsoft wants to release a new age in computers... Widows Vista... x64 tehnology... and DIRECT X 10... so ill recommend a duel-core proc....it's faster than a single core x32 proc ...
x64 = duel-core
U cant find software for x64... if you dont find software... then you will use it like a single x32 proc that is weaker than the duel core x32 proc...
Duel-core works fine on all software out there...

It depends on what you like, I have had AMD and Intel. I prefer AMD, never shuts down for no reason. But that's just me you need to decide for yourself. Because the debate between Intel and AMD still continues.

I have always preferred AMD over Intel, plus I believe they do run better than the Intels.
