You need to talk to your ob/gyn and spell out your concerns to him. The same thing happened to me a few years ago. At my annual I told the dr. I had only had 3 periods that year. She said, "Oh, you are so lucky!" Then she explained that 3-4 periods a year is okay. The next year I had zero periods and was very concerned. My doctor was very confused by my concern. It seems so many women these days are trying to find ways NOT to get their monthly, that docs don't even consider the ones who want a reminder that they are not pregnant. I explained to my doctor that I was not married, seeing someone exclusively at the time, and needed confirmation that I was not pregnant every month. After discussing my concerns, my doc switched me to a lower dose pill and my periods returned shortly thereafter. Please speak up and tell your doc your needs and don't let them push your around or rush you. Your concerns are real and need to be addressed.

I personally do not feel birth control is healthy for anyone... it made me sick as a dog... I've been married a year and a half and haven't been on birth control of over 7 months. I still have not gotten pregnant.
I used the patch, tried 2 diff. kinds of pills, and none worked. Made my period worse...
I believe if I were you I would get a second opinion!

Birth control pills messed my cycle up.
And now I have endometriosis because of my messed up cycle.
Check with your doctor about the side effects though. It may mean that you have a problem with the pill.

Get a second opinion. It happens more often that women get pregnant on the pill now a days. Also the pill causes stroke risk in women, and more so when they smoke.

it could be that it is just your hormones or your stress level. These both can effect our mentstral cycle. If it is hormones the doctor can change the dosage of your bc pills. or just leave ti be and your body will work it out by itself. Good luck and Good health
