I will have to agree with the first person to answer you here. Without any information on how quickly you read, your literary interests and what sort of report you are looking to write it is tough to advise you here. I will give it a go though.

The following is a list of books I rather enjoyed in educational career previous to college. If none of it looks good to you just go to your library and search under subject for the things in which you are interested.

Medieval literature:
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Beowulf
Chaucer's Canterbury Tales
Dante's Divine Comedy- Specifically "Inferno" which is the most enjoyable of the three.

Renaissance Literature:
King Lear, Shakespeare
Macbeth, Shakespeare
Hamlet, Shakespeare

Later work:
Fall of the House of Usher, Poe
The Old Man and the Sea, Hemingway
The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald
Silas Marner, Eliot
Watership Down, Adams
Farenheit 451, Bradbury

Pick a book from the Xenogenesis series by Octavia E. butler. What a great sci-fi fantasy author and most of the books are relatively short.

Plenty of imaginative subject matter to report on!!

How about the controversial Dan Brown's THE DA VINCI CODE?

If you haven't read this book yet you can save the 600 pages by e-mailing me and I will send you my BOOK DIGEST of the CODE which is only 20 pages long. Then you can make your book report of 500 words from that, if you wish.

No charge of course. ronmac60@yahoo.com

I'd pick one that's about something you like and that isn't too long to finish reading. No one else knows what your interests are or how quickly you read. Good luck!
