The most likely reason is an infection of your urinary tract. That pressure or "urgency" you're describing is one of the symptoms. The only way to know for sure is to see your doc so they can test the urine for bacteria. If it's an infection, you'll receive an antibiotic and the symptom you've described should be gone. The other thing you need to do is drink a lot of water--this helps your kidneys work better and can also help flush out bacteria.

UTI... augh!!! I bet it's burning! Until you can get to a doctor for antibiotics drink as much Cranberry juice as you can stomach. Apple juice and milk are also alternatives to reduce the acid content in your bladder. No orange juice!! You'll regret it.
If you're in Australia there's a product you can get at the supermarket or chemist called URAL - it doesn't taste too bad and works wonders but only if this has just started happening.
Poor you... owie!
If it's super super bad and making you cry or if you're peeing blood go to the hospital emergency room as the infection may have travelled up to your kidneys which is dangerous.

It sounds like a urinary tract infection. You may want to see your doctor and have your urine tested . He can prescribe an antibiotic to get rid of the problem and make you better. In the mean time drink plenty of fluids and keep well hydrated. Good luck.
