Why not go see your primary care physician? It's cheaper, and doesn't tie up emergency department space and resources with non-emergent cases.
In the meantime, try lying down on your left side and cough, or have someone pound your back. If there is a stone lodged in the neck of the gallbladder, you may be able to dislodge it this way. It will fall back into the body of the gallbladder if it breaks loose, so it will only be a temporary fix, but you'll get a bit of relief if it works.
Then make an appointment to see a doctor before you have trouble again.
EDIT: If you experience fever, along with right upper abdomen pain, nausea and vomiting, DO go to the emergency department. You may have cholecystitis, and will require surgery to remove the gallbladder before you become septic.

Yes of course you can, though the system would prefer you rang NHS 24/direct and rolled around in pain for a bit waiting for a nurse to ring you back to tell you to take a couple of painkillers and see your GP in the morning!
It is a pity that you should still be in pain, your diagnosis is obviously made, if not confirmed. In my early days as a doctor that would have led to rapid hospital admission and remedial surgery. Now it means you suffer on a waiting list. Not only that but each admission costs the system money which would not have been needed to be spent if you fixed rapidly! ( That is of course not meant to be a criticism of you needing admission!)

Have you been dianosed by your doctor that you have gallstones, or are you assuming this is the problem? If you have been dianosed, you should contact the doctor and explain things are worse. Gallbladder surgery is very simple these days, mine was removed thirty years ago due to gallstones, I carry a ten inch scar across my abdomen, now you get three little punch holes, that's it. Using the er for something they will not treat is a waste of their time and your money, contact your doctor, today.

If you have had it confirmed you have gallstones then press your GP for an urgent refferal. If pain is unbearable then go to A&E, expect a wait but at least you will be in the right place to be seen to.Good luck. I sympathise. (aDr.)

you have my deepest symapthy! I too have gall stones, let me tell you my tale!
I got ill on the Wednesday, but left it and left it. By Sunday I was in agony - i felt like i was dying. I went to my GP on monday, who shipped me straight to A&E. They have now told me that a stone is blocking a tube to my liver and I have to have more treatment. Its all becoming a bit of a saga!
I would say get straight to A&E. I know how unbearable the pain is! just go!!!!!

I totally sympathise - and suggest you go even if its not at its worst.
When I'm in severe pain I cannot use the phone/pc etc, cannot call for help. By the time is eases (7-10 hours later) I dont need any help.
If you are able, get in tough with your doc first.

Call your doctor, let him know that the pain is increasing. This could indicate an obstruction that needs immediate attention. Then head to the emergency room, if nothing else they can give you something to alleviate the pain.
