Basically, dreams are divided into two categories: Portent (that
is telling of a future event), and Fantasy.
---Portent dreams usually show in great detail and in color. Most
portent dreams concern you and your personal life. Once in a
while, a portent dream will deal with national issues.
---Fantasy dreams are explained as just your sub-conscious
mind "cleaning house" and trying to sort through all the infor-
mation you've collected during that day. Fantasy dreams
generally aren't in color and usually don't make any sense.
Whenever someone says to you, "Sweet dreams", they're refer-
ing to the fantasy dreams.

At times I do believe dreams can be premonitions. The reason I say this is because I've known people that this has happened to. I don't think every dream has a meaning, however. Most dreams are just a product of your subconscious mind processing the days events.

Think about your dreams and how relevant they are to what you heard, saw, or thought that day. I believe that the last thing you think about before you head into REM sleep is what you are dreaming about......so I think they represent the present but definitely have meaning for the immediate future.

The mind's visualization and imagination plays an important part on our future actions. They do not necessarily direct future actions though. Being proactive versus reactive in important so as to make a personal decision before acting.

Dreams are just the subconscious mind's play ground. Dreams do not tell the future. If that is the case everyone would think they are physic or something

Have you ever thought about getting on of those books that tell you what certain things you dream about mean. I had a lot of dreams about my father after he passed away. And they were full of random things that didnt really make sense. Anyway my roommate gave me this book she had that told you what the things your dream about represent. It made a lot of sense and helped me figure out alot of things. You may want to look into that.

Although scientists continue to debate this issue, most people who work with their dreams, either by themselves or with others, find that their dreams are very meaningful for them. Dreams are useful in learning more about the dreamer's feelings, thoughts, behavior, motives, and values. Many find that dreams can help them solve problems.

I think that dreams do have a meaning. Whether that meaning is global and cosmic, or simply a message about your personal unconscious, I do not know. I would think it is just a personal way our minds have of flushing out the day's thoughts and "rebooting" for tomorrow.

I believe its our minds way of making sense to our concious of whats going on in our lives and within us. I dont believe it tells the future but I wouldnt argue that point, either.
