If it's their custom, I would let them. There's nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't let another man kiss me on the face though. I'm too much of a homophobe for that.

in medieval times ithink they do that. they kiss their lord's or master's hand or ring while bowing their heads to show respect. they would do that to someone older and i would say wiser and not to someone with the same age level.
