My girlfriend gets nuisance calls (no words; hang up) on her cell that come up "unknown" at all hours of the day. Aside from changing numbers, how can we stop this idiot?

Instead of saying "hello" when she answers the phone, tell her to get a whistle (like athletic coaches use) and blast that thing LOUDLY. I'll bet it won't take but a time or two before the other person will have enough of that.

Otherwise, she can just not answer any "unknown" calls and the caller will likely eventually get bored and quit.

Call your phone company and see if they have an option to filter your calls. I think SBC in California did but I don't know if you live here or not. You could also pay for private line so it does not happen in the future and if the guy got your # from you..........don't give your number to people you don't know!!!

**Call *69 I think it calls them back and be rude and anoying if they tell you to stop just say you are getting back to them for the rude calling and if they ever call back you will turn their info into the police and make it a real matter. Once you have hang up call the sheriff department and let them know you want to make report about the incident in case.

It could be a prank call or someone who is sick learn to protect yourself and don't carry weapons considered illigal that will only get you into more trouble. Call the police department and find out what is considered legal before buying a weapon!!!

Good luck and stay safe!!!

Call the phone company they can trace the number as well as put a block on it. Also you can block your line so that anyone that has an unlisted number has to dial *82 before the call will go through. That way they can't call unless they identify themselves.

there is a do not call list that the person must say who they are if the phone number is unlisted or blocked...then the only way your phone even rings is after they say a name into the recording

STOP PICKING UP THE PHONE THEY WILL EVENTUALLY GET TIRED OF CALLING OR ASK THE PHONE COMPANY IF THEY CAN PUT A TRACE ON WHOEVER IS MAKING THE CALLS. EVEN IF U HAVE A COP FRIEND MAYBE THEY COULD DO IT 4 U.
