Something not SPECIAL (although i think everything is special) - but everyday-ish, small, natural...
For example, yesterday when going to work i looked down the bridge i always cross and noticed some footprints on the snow that was so clean otherwise and it made me smile because in a weird way that sight was beautiful in its simplicity.

So, what makes you smile? Apart from people asking you to marry them or offering you a raise or giving you a car for your graduation or something like that?

Babies when they smile. Mothers with their children. Guys playing poker for the fun and not the money. Cats in the grass stalking a butterfly. Dogs on their haunches just waiting in anticipation of that frisbee throw. Horses running. Cows coming home. The smell of new-mown grass. The look on a guys face when a woman blows him a kiss for letting her into traffic. Watching the new recuits running in formation at 5:30 in the morning after 9 weeks of training. Watching the winners rejoice, watching good losers commiserate. Hummingbirds at my window feeder. Baby raccoons learning how to wash food from mama. Lizards when they are not sure you see them. Wind in the trees. SAC jets racing across the sky replete with contrails. The screech of seagulls. Redtailed hawks cruising the thermals. The laughter of children.

I could go on for many more paragraphs, but you get the idea.

Putting on lip balm b/c it reminds me of when my boyfriends surprised me with a basket full of tubes when I ran out and had a mini panic attack. I'm lost without my lip balm.
