I have shin splints on both of my legs. I do a jumping workout with jump rope and just jumping. For these to heal should I stop this, and for how long will it take them to heal.

How long should I not do the work out for though?

Yes you should take it easy for a bit to let it heal. To stop from getting them in the future there are a few stretches and work outs you can do. Put your toe up against a wall and lean into it. The second is what is called pushing the gas take a rope put it around your foot more towards the ball of the foot then push down like it was the gas peddle while hold the rope to give your self Resistance. Last would be to walk backwards this allows for a more even stretch before a work out.

Not a doctor here, but from personal experience, I've found that if I keep doing the workout that I feel the shin splints in (for me it's the elliptical), they eventually diminish. In the beginning, I'll take it easy, but after about 5-6 days, the pain is gone and I can workout as long/hard as I want/need to. They only seem to come back if I get out of a routine and have to break myself back in again.
