Well me and my friend are thinking of joining the track and field team. we both think it's a chance to realize our talents, but i am afraid of going alone without my mom.

Hey there, sure Cairo is safe..You can walk in the streets late at night and feel no fear..if your afraid of travelling without your mom then take your friend skalkosa with you..it will probably make you enjoy your trip even more!

never walk alone or except to be shown anywhere unless by a lady, tho they may not even talk to u, wear long skirts and cover your arms and chest with something light, never go with any man in Egypt any where with out someone with you.
it is a muslin country do not wear anything that shows your legs arms or chest men will think your easy, if you are touched by any man shout out loud NO or even swear, everyone will look and he in shame will walk away.
Sounds bad doesn't it, but if you respect there culture and take care you can have a great time.

just be careful. Im not trying to scare you but i've had 2 different friends sexually assaulted on two different occasions in cairo. Just ensure you don't go anywhere alone.

If you still need your mother to go with u on trips then you are not old enough to go alone. That would mean to any place what can happen to you in one place can happen in any place you may want to go to.

your mom can't protect you from sexual assult, do not believe egyption travel agents- you most likely will not be safe-
