How do you fight off a python or anaconda?

I'm talking about the snakes that are big enought to eat you. Now thats disgusting.

Theres got to be away to fend off an attack.

They aren't going to eat you and for a normal size man, probably aren't going to be able to kill you unless you sit perfectly still and let it do so. But to fend off an attack there are tried and true ways that will make any snake instantly back off:

1. rubbing alcohol. (isophoric, -- spelled wrong) --- if you have a snake that bites and will not let go, a little of this in front of his nose and it will retreat. If this is a pet, you don't want to put it on the actually snake because it will cause damage.

2. Stun gun -- Yeah, I am not kidding. I had heard of this before, but just a few months ago there was a female worker at some zoo or reptile place that was attacked by a python while she was doing the demostration to the audience. A stun gun was used after a hour of unsuccessful attempts to get it off and if finally let go immediately. Now I don't know if the person feels the zap or not, so use only in extreme cases.

3. Knife -- cut it in half, then if it would swallow you, you'll be coming out the other end.

4. Snakes those large are constrictors and they will want to "squeeze the life" out of you first before they would try to eat you. Fight it off, it will flee. If it around you start to crush it against something, it won't like it. Just keep your wits about you and don't panic.

I pretty much would face this as I have always thought of facing a dog attack. Instead of running when a dog is coming at you (you'll never out run it and unless you have a safe place in about 5 feet, you are not going to make it); so instead of running, put out your left arm (or right if you are left handed) and then the dog grabs your arm, use the other to choke it, beat it, gouge out an eye; whatever. You are going to get bite anyhow, make it to your advantage.

If you are going to be attacked by the snake anyhow, let it have something so you can take care if it another way.

ok first only a couple pythons (burmese and retics) can do any harm to an average sized adult human. and they cant "eat you" second a green anaconda which can reach 28 feet or more and 550 pounds yes they could kill an adult but i seriously doubt youll ever need to worry about them attacking you and especially EATING you, more than likely youll never run into one thats on the loose while you smell like a large rodent or furry animal!! but should you run into one in the wild hopefully youll have a knife cause youd be in the middle of amazon (for green anacondas)

It is really, really hard to get yourself attacked by a giant snake unless you bother it first.

If you are in this position, control the head and tail. It will try to bite, and the bite hurts!

If it can get all around you it gets harder to escape, so control the head and tail to prevent a complete wrap. Once you got the head and tail, you basically 'shrug' yourself out of the snake's coils.

The most simple an affective way to get released from a squeezing snake is to pour some alcohol on their heads. If you do so try to do it with some edible strong booze. This saturates their senses and nostrils making them to choke.
They imediately release you.

well they are only able to eat u if your a small child because a adult man or women's shoulders are to wide to fit in their mouth and i know this because i watch this show on National Geographic proving this and if you need to fight them of you would probably wanna stab it with your hand right near their eyes or if you have a weapon use that or if you have alcohol you can rub that on their faces or mouth
