Both. I've owned dogs and cats all my life, and all of them have been laplanders. I should also mention that none of the dogs were less than 40 pounds fully grown; the biggest was a 102 pound German Shepherd. They're both good for lowering blood pressure and relieving stress. Both are trainable, if you know what you're doing. Plus, they all have unique personalities.

I like cats. They aren't as messy or loud, and you don't have to walk them in the middle of the night in the rain or snow. I think cats have more personality. Dogs can easily be broken, cats on the other hand, require more work. I had a cat for 18 years, no matter what I did, she thought of herself as the master of the house. I thought it was cool.

Debating dogs vs. cats is like debating politics. Good luck everybody.

A dog could take care of you to begin with...Fun to play with...there not called mans best friend for nothing. A cat is a bit boring for me. Not much activity with a cat. When was the last time you heard, "Oh I'm going to walk my Cat?" So with that said...I'll take dogs over cats anyday!

Dogs because they are normally one person or family pets. I haven't met a cat yet that doesn't think it belongs to anyone and everyone. But then I'm partial to dogs because I can take them with me when I go camping or to the coast and they don't run off. I'm also allergic to cats, but I love the kittens :)

Dogs! They are appreciative of your love and affection. Cats can live without you for weeks at a time.

You never see a dog jump on top of the counter and leave hair all over the food.

Dogs are loyal to their owner, and can be trained so they would know how to do tricks, and some dogs are cute and sweat, and other dogs are big and scary and some times they are watchdogs. And the only thing I can say about cats is that they are cute. I like cats more then dogs, but when you put it this way dogs are bather.

Love both but ... have to say dogs, apart from the fact that they (without choice) put their entire life in our hands, you can tell them anything and they never tell. Cats on the other hand, If allowing you the pleasure of their company will up and leave if they find you boring.

Dogs are more loyal and easier to train. Yes, Cats are independant, and some are good hunters, but not always loyal, and can't always be trained, and are sneaky. Definately a dog person.

Dogs are great, they'll love you no matter what.
Cats are more aloof. And they also use a litterbox, pat it with their paws, then jump up on your kitchen counter where you will be making a sandwich later on today...YUCK!
