No, conservatives are not against stem cell research, they are against harvesting babies. I am for stem cell research, but not for baby-harvesting. Bush was the first president ever to FUND stem cell research.

There are two types of stem cell research that I'm aware of-Embryonic stem cell reseach and Adult stem cell research. The difference between the two is that with Embryonic stem cell research, a baby dies. As for Adult stem cell reseach, I'm not sure how they do that. However, Adult stem cell research has shown to be bear good results while every single trial of Embryonic stem cell research that I'm aware of has been a failure. Conservatives aren't against stem cell research-we're against murdering babies.

I have more than a few conservatives in my family, and most of them are for stem cell research. Some of them make that distinction between embryonic and adult cell research, but not all. I think it goes beyond party lines and is most definitely a bipartisan issue.

It is bipartisan issue with the major resistance among republicans, but many democrats are against embryonic stem cell research too.

Your question is another fine example of Liberals pulling some truth out of their asses and then adding their own reality to it.

Some conservatives are against embryonic stem cell research. I would dare say they are also against abortion, but we won't go their.

Nobody I know of is against adult stem cell research. You know, the kind that has led to some results.

Democrats were very good at fuzzying this line during the last elections. They pulled out Michael Fox who proceeded to say all Conservatives are against all stem cell research and they want everybody to die.

And many many limp-brained Liberals ate it up with a spoon.

As a Conservative, I am all for Stem Cell research.

I am against it being funded by the Federal Government.

Why? Who is going to pay for the procedures once benifits come from this research? We are. How much of that money will make it back into my pocket or into the national debt? ZERO.

So, the Dem's on the hill want ME and every other American to pay for this research and THEN make us PAY for the treatment, and we never see any of that money again? No, I don't think so.

The pharmacudicle industry are the ones that will benifit from the federal funding and all treatment money. We will see no breaks, no deals, NOTHING.

Democrats in office will get kick-backs from the pharmacudicles when the research goes into federal backing because they pushed for it. Go figure...

The whole fight isn't about the research...it's about the fact that I should not have to pay for it.

As a conservative, I am FOR stem cell research... ADULT stem cell research. There have been many (over 70 I think) cures derived from research done on adult stem cells. Private money is used, for the most part, to do this research because there is an obvious financial gain to be made, and investors are smart.

What I am against is embryonic stem cell research. There have been no proven cures through this method, and they want to use my tax dollars to support it. Private money is not interested in embryonic stem cell research because they don't see a financial gain.. aka success in this program.

Wrong, it ain't that simple.

Many Conservatives are not in favor of federally-funded embryonic stem cell research. They are not against privately funded embryonic stem cell research but they believe that the Federal Government should not be funding experimentation that destroys embryos.

because of the fact the only subject embryonic stem cells has created have been tumors, i'm not too hopeful. person stem cells artwork. they have been used to handle all sorts of ailments. embryonic stem cells do not artwork. it is in basic terms an excuse to legitimize abortion. permit me ask you this: would you have your daughter killed so some alcoholic ought to get a sparkling liver? You complained that I dodged your question, so right here that's: To be user-friendly, i don't get exhilaration from the seen this variety of quandary, yet i does not take this variety of treatment. i don't think of I could be concerned, however. this would be a not basic question. If I say no, then i'm a obdurate fool. If I say sure, then i'm a hypocrite.

Conservatives are against EMBRYONIC stem cell research. There's a big difference.

Most Conservatives are against FEDERAL FUNDING of stem cell research. At least I am. If the idea of EMBRYONIC stem cell research, to which you refer without realizing--misuse of words is another another pet peeve of conservatives--had any real merit, there would be private money flowing faster than they could count it. In reality, embryonic stem cell research is the only type that has produced zero results.

It is a 'smart money' issue, not a moral one.
