His official hight is listed at 5.9, but I don't believe he's that tall. Anyone know how tall he really is?

According to hockeydb.com, Mike is 5'9"...

maybe 5'9" on skates... either way, he's an awesome goalie... so jealous of the flames in the late 80's...

There is not a player in the NHL who is the height he is listed at, with the exception of possibly Zdeno Chara and a couple others of the HUGE guys(6'5"+)...just take an inch or two off most players from what it says in the program or website, and you'll be in the ballpark...I used to work at the arena in Ottawa, and met players like Theo Fleury (Calgary) and Derek Roy (Buffalo) who were listed as 5' 9" or 5' 10"...I'm taller than both and I am 5' 7"

Former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Mike Vernon is 5'9

People that I know have have met him say he is less than 5'8.

A quote from the hockey hall of fame:
Both Fuhr and Vernon were known for their quick reflexes and fast glove hands. Fuhr, at 5-foot, 9-inches, was a little bigger than Vernon and both might have less of an opportunity now in an era of bigger goalies. "Grant's about three inches taller and a little heavier."
