What was the reason for picking these two films? I think they are both good films and if they are someone's favorite two films then I get it. As far as comparison's sake i would think that Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption would be casue for a better wiegh-in. Or Million Dollar Baby vs. Cinderella Man. At least one would be comparing two films which take place in prison and based on a Steven King story and two other films which were released within a year of each other and are more or less based around the sport of boxing. But to answer your question, if given the option to see either one of those films I would choose Green Mile, just a preference.

The Green Mile. Million Dollar Baby was a bit over-rated in my opinion. Good movie, but not Best Picture worthy.

Both sappy. Green Mile wins only because it's Stephen King.

If I had to choose between one of them I would choose Green Mile all the way, Stephen King is by far one of the best writers of our times.
