i only have accsess to internet via dial up in remote area. if i purchase a laptop can it be used with dial up for accsess?

Yes it will. If your laptop does not have a modem, buy a PCMCIA modem card and put it in the PCMCIA slot.

Most laptops have a built in modem that allows you to plug in a phone cord and use dial up.

Check the specs on the machine you are purchasing to make sure - and if you can't tell, then ask.

The laptop should have a built-in Fax/Modem, so GO FOR IT.

If the laptop has a modem in it, it will work with dial up. (Most laptops on the market have modems).

It sure can. However check with the store you buy it from, most of the time the manufacturers offer free internet service. Also if you have cable television check with the provider to see if they offer broadband, same with sattellite.
