hmmm..... what a strange question. I have several cattle and I never raced them. But I have drove a long the side of them running and I would say that they run slower than 20 mph. Now on the flip side of that. They can outrun me. A few years ago I couldn't run fast enough to get out of the way of running cow. Needless to say she hit me and knocked me out. Sure did hurt.

Let's see a horse runs anywhere from 17 MPH to 30 MPH, and we know that a cow can't out run a horse. The old west proves that fact time and time again. Cows run at about 17 MPH just fast enough to give a horse a work out and you a run for your money.
