i am having a whale of trouble with my broadband provider, so i have decided to pack it in a quit. the problem is this: they have not provided me with broadband services for more than 2 months, yet they expect me to pay for the whole 12 month contract? as i see it, why should i pay for a service that i have not been provided?

can any1 tell me how to go about solving this problem?

thanks..

Firstly, I can tell you that you can report this problem at www.ofcom.org.uk where they will definitely assist you with this issue. Secondly the best broadband provider is AOL currently. More and more people are switching to AOL because they are offering great deals e.g. no minimum contract, if 12 month contract then they offer you a free wireless router from netgear but its up to you if you want to go with contract or without contract. If you get the free wireless router then the 12 months contract applies and if you dont get a 12 month contract then you can move to other broadband provider any time you wish. So thats a great advantage of being with AOL. And remember the first month is free with AOL. And now they offer 2mbps speed with unlimited usage at just £14.99 which is a lot cheaper than most other broadband providers. But i strongly recommend you to please try the websites below and trust me the websites listed below will also help you decide who is the best for you.

Hope this helps.

Only thing you can do is take them to court.. But you'd have to have enough evidence of lack of service to plug up the platomic river. Since you've signed a contract for the service. They can in turn make you pay for the entire year.

My adivce (( pending your location )) After you deal with the matter of your Broadband provider. And assuming it's not what I'm about to suggest. go with Comcast Cable Internet. They're probably the most stable that I've seen. Short of a T-1 or T-3. But I don't know who would offer those service(s). Let alone who offers what in you're area.

I don't know what the best is, but I can tell you the worst in my experience and that's Tiscali. Absolutely dreadful service and useless customer service/technical, ahem, 'help', from India.

...Okay, own up; which of you as.sholes gave me the thumb down? Tiscali ARE the worst ISP I've ever had and their customer service is a joke. It's not racist to point out the fact that a person can hardly speak the same language as you, never mind help you with technical issues. This my overly sensitive friends is just how it is. Like it or lump it.

Note that terminating your contract comes with a fine, however BT is on top of the broadband game.

if your on talktalk then tell them to stuff it.
they are the most unreliable, unhelpful ,useless ISP i have ever had the misfortune to come across.
if you cancel they will not charge you a fee as all the problems are down to them...............
GO TO BT
