Just my own opinion, no proof, really, but...

I do think Atlantis existed. It's referenced by so many civilizations.

I think it was most likely a center of culture and learning that was destroyed during the great flood and was near where Noah launched the Ark.

Yes, I do believe that there is a distinct possibility that Atlantis existed. Too many archeologists have been searching for this lost continent and has spent probably millions of dollars for the cause. The newest findings that I have seen on the National Geographic channel and the Discovery channel have been the Greecian Isles and near the Middle East. Now I'm more inclined to believe it's near the Greecian Islands. There is a new expedition that is surfacing that has found some ancient anchors made out of stone. And other signficant artifacts. So I'm thinking that possibly if there was an Atlantis it might have been somewhere in that location. Now on another note, on this same program the archeologists that were doing this episode had come across a native of this region that had found a brand new discovery. He would not show on the camera where this location was but did let camera's in the area underwater and you just wouldn't believe some of the artifacts that had been found. This native just might have found the lost continent of Atlantis. Makes you wonder.

I had seen a documentary a few years ago, I think on National Geographic, where a man describes the location of Atlantis by referring to a story by Plato.

I wish I had more details. I've always meant to look up that documentary again, because it was the most believable one I had seen or heard.

...I just attempted to look up the documentary and found an article discrediting the show. I find it interesting. Here's the link...

I'd say antartica. Probably buried under a permenant icecap where no one can look. I think the earth tilted on it's axis and it froze over; after the fall. I think mankind as a whole was advanced and either plague, meteor, or disease brought about their downfall. Think of it. If 85% of world's populace died off then those left would be far spread, without power, and without technology. Survival would be the order of the day. They would become barbarians. Maybe one braintrust is left, one shining city that all talk of as being "great". Then one day they either suffer a nuclear mishap, or are overcome by barbarians. Either way, within 1000 yrs all evidence is lost. We start all over again.
I feel that we were advanced before, that Atlantis existed. But that society was magic based, not technology. That is why so many legends are the same world over. Why so many cultures beleive in magic. Why the bible specificly forbids christians from mixing with "magic users", why Pharoh wasn't amazed at Mose' staff trick, and Cain was afraid of the "others"...if it was just Adam, Eve, Cain, and Able--who are "the others" God has to mark his forehead to protect him from?

Atlantis being favored by the gods was once a very prosperous island. it was the center for merchants and livelihood. people there were so innovative.

there came a time that their knowledge on advanced technology reached its peak and all the townspeople got so addicted in inventing new things. they followed their vision of building a structure underground. at first they got successful but when the people gone proud and stopped worshiping the gods, there started their doom.

gods were so upset that they sent tidal waves and tsunamis to sink the whole island. and that's what happened based from the books I've read. and in the discovery channel as i recall, the divers shown some rocks they got under the sea near Cyprus-believed to be from Atlantis.

I somewhat believe in Atlantis. I think it has a connection to the bermuda triangle located by Cuba. I think it was an ancient civilization sunkken underwater by the force of gravity.

atlantis existed in the atlantic ocean. the land of mu (Lemuria) or Pan ] was in the pacific ocean . they both went down into the ocean 50,000 years ago. as mountain ranges pushed up. Mu extended from somewhere north of hawaii to the south as far as the Fijis and Easter island, and was the original habitat of man. Atlantis was a smaller land mass off the eastern edge of north and south america.
