Rightly or wrongly, it does look like the US government is gearing up for an attack on Iran. The British people are worried that they will be dragged into yet another unwanted confilct by Tony Blair following George Bush around again.

Also consider that if that the US does attack then what is that going to do to the stability of the region and the world economy. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Syria and the Palestinians would all be drawn in. Oil prices would double or more and production would be devastated.

The Iranians are still battle hardened after fighting the Iraqis for 10 years and know the terrain inside out. Also, in the wake of a US attack (for once) the Iranian people would unite behind the present government, leaving an American army fighting an entire country with a population of over 70 million with an average age of under 30.

Terrorist attacks in the UK would become as common as during the IRA days and the US would start getting hit again

The US Government does not need an excuse to attack Iran. It already has one in the threat of a nuclear attack somewhere, possibly in the Middle East, carried out by the unstable Neo-Nazi government of Iran. Iran has been told by the UN to stop work on it's nuclear programme. Iran is in violation of the UN by failing to obey the order given to it. Sanctions are already in place and soon Iranians will begin to feel the pain when vital supplies start to run out. Soon I hope. When they're down to their last Asprin, maybe then, they will begin to listen to reason.

The Iranian Army is in no condition to fight anyone. They have not been in war for ten years, which means they do not have any battle hardened troops. The Iranian troops I saw on exercise on TV a day or so ago, looked sharp but were probably a hand picked bunch of about 30. In any event, were an attack on Iran to take place, the first thing which is going to happen is 'shock and awe'. After which there will be little left of this so-called Iranian Army, who incidentally are ill equiped and poorly trained.

They're all mouth and trousers as we say here in London. As a Londoner, I frankly do not give a damn how many terrorists try to blow me up. The entire might of the Nazi Luftwaffa in World War 2 failed to kill me. The thirty year IRA campaign failed to kill me and so too will any other terrorist group. I will not obey them.

NO SURRENDER!

Down with Iran.

Did the Government find a convincing argument to invade Iraq? No. Do you really think they'll need a convincing argument to invade Iran? All George Bush needs to do is pull out the old WMD/paranoia "arguments" and he'll be invading in no time at all. It's not like anybody in the government has the balls to stand up to him or anything. Unfortunately.

Just commenting on Clive H's argument that Iran should be attacked because they have ignored UN Resolutions I wonder if Clive knows how many UN Resolutions Israel has ignored. As some one who served a total of four years in Northern Ireland in the services during the so called 'Troubles' I say to Clive get a life!.

They probably can, but this time it'll be even worse than Iraq. The Americans will come up against waves of suicide soldiers and bombers and it will never end. These people - including the women - are totally suicidal.

There is no point in sending ground troops into Iran. They will come out in body bags. If the USA wants to stop Iran making nuclear bombs, they will have to obliterate the sites with conventional bombing.

What the terror backlash of that will be is anyone's guess.

We also need to face another sad reality. Since Bush has done his evil (and the evil of his bosses) we can basically guarantee that we'll be fighting REAL terrorists for many years to come. We might as well smoke the entire middle east and be done with them once and for all. One way or the other, we have to kill them now. Bush has set us up for a war that will literally last 100 years.

Bush is giving the same old excuses and people are not buying it. Check out Kieth Olbermann at u-Tube. He has a video showing Bush using almost the exact same BS to push for Iran that he did for Iraq. I hope congress can stop him before he really does bring on the Apocalypse.

Since when did Bush need a good reason to attack anyone?

It just simply means that more UK taxpayers money will be wasted on rebuilding the place when Bush has finished.

It seems the only compelling reason people need in the Euro centrics is the same as in any uncivilized country.
FOLLOW THE LEADER!
They may grumble a bit but they will line up like bobble headed dolls.
The smarter ones will argue over the moral issues but economics, As Bush said recently,
"SOMETIMES MONEY TRUMPS PEACE."
