No - it won't hurt your baby. If it could, the doctor wouldn't do it at every visit and certainly wouldn't have shown you how to do it. Your baby is well protected in the amniotic fluid as well as the uterus itself and layers of fat in your abdomen. I wouldn't worry if I were you. :)

No you won't hurt you baby if you're only palpating your uterus. I've had some pretty rough exams from OBs and my kids are just fine. You may not be able to feel anything much but your fundal height for a few more weeks. I loved keeping track of my growing belly on my own with my 4th pregnancy. It's rather amazing at what the female body is capable of :)

More than likely not. If you are just poking around in the manner your doctor does or with the amount of pressure an ultra sound tech uses you and the baby should be just fine. The baby is protected by a lot of fluids right now!! At 21 weeks your baby is only about 1.5 inches long and less than a pound in weight. That lets you know how much fluid you have in your stomach. And when it comes to rupturing something, normally rupture only happen with trauma to the stomach, say if someone hit or kicked you. The moment you realize you are pregnant you are given motherly instincts, so just listen to yourself as well as your doctor and both you and baby should be just fine. Also, just a little more FYI at 21 weeks you are due for an ultra sound any day now. Best wishes. Take care.

I found it easier to find in the early stages if I started poking more towards my side, then move towards the center of my tummy. You can really feel the change in texture from your normal tissue to where your uterus is. Also try starting at your ribs and moving down, that worked for me too.

It's not likely that you will hurt your baby with your fingers if a penis pounding in there can't hurt it! However, I don't know why anyone would want to dig in their vagina with their fingers to find their uterus if they're unsure of the harm factor? Let your doctor do the digging and poking....that's what they're for. Keep your hands out of there! (unless you're just wanting to get a little pleasure--Nothing wrong with that :)

The actual act of seraching shouldn't harm to baby - it's pretty far up there and is well insulated inside the uterus. However putting anything in there increases risks for infections which are bad for you and the baby. I would leave the feeling up to the professionals.

I doubt that you would, but why do you need to feel your uterus for yourself? I got through a whole pregnancy without needing to do that!

No your baby is well insulated. I went to a doctors visit and they hurt me cause they were pushing down on my stomach so hard. It will be fine. Its exciting!

Not sure that you can hurt your child or yourself, but I wouldn't be diggin in either.

not really. right now your baby is small and very protected. however, if you recieve some kind of trauma to your abd, then yes.
