My computer has an up to date Norton Antivirus corporate addition, and windows defender, when I used both of them to scan my comp, both said it was virus free. BUT IT WASNT. Everytime I clicked the My Computer icon, or internet explorer this msiexec proccess pops up, in a little window and prompts me to install Adobe 7.0!!??

WTF

And theirs nothing you can do about it except to keep on clicking the cancel button and opening up task maneger to force terminate the msiexec procces.

I tried to delete this msiexec thing from the system 32 files but it keeps on magically reapearing after i delete it, and i've tried to quarenteen it with Norton, but to no avail.

I'm sort of getting desparate here.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks!!!

It's probably been infected with something, re booting the computer does not work.

Sounds like a "self-replicating virus": you think you've deleted it but the darn thing comes back again, eh?!
Okay, don't panic. Suggest you go to http://www.mbusbyuk.info/links.html and scroll down the page to free online virus & spyware scanners. Select Panda ActiveScan. This will clean & disinfect anything it finds on your computer. Make sure you do a full system scan (i.e. Scan My Computer).
Good Luck!

MSIEXEC process is the process that unpacks a MSI file. You tried installing Adobe 7.0 and it locked up. Now it is in an endless cycle of executing the install command. Reboot your machine and it should clear it up.

Dude!

Nothing to panic! Why do you waste time cancelling it every time. Do one thing! Install Adobe 7.0 as it's asking, Now it won't pop-up anymore! If you don't like to use Adobe 7.0 or don't even want it, just goto Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs and remove it. This way you can surely avoid getting annoyed!
Howz the idea??!!
