I just confronted someone at work. I thought she was talking badly about me behind my back. She said she wasn't and now I feel really stupid. What do I do?

Unfortunately, it's too late to rectify the situation. You can apologize for accusing her, but that's about it.

Your best bet would be not to feed into the gossip at the office. Avoid being part of the clutch when coworkers are talking about colleagues and take yourself out of the mix. I've really tried to separate socializing in my office. I keep in mind that I'm there to earn a paycheck and try not to get overly friendly with coworkers.

Are you sure she wasn't lying? I had that happen at work. Someone was slagging me off (said my name) and I was standing right behind them. They turned around and denied it! So people who gossip behind your back aren't about to tell the truth to your face.
