Becuase the area of circulation in the mouse is very smaller compared to that of elephant's. Therefore, exchange of air is faster due to the immediate bulk of flow of mouse blood.

It probably has to do with metabolism and energy of the mouse and elephant, you see mice moving around a lot faster and more frequent than elephants who are more peaceful and relax. Also maybe the elephant has a bigger heart to body size ratio therefore its heart is able to beat slower and still oxygen to all the places that it needs, while a mouse needs its heart to beat faster in order to get all the oxygen going to its body part.

the elephants heart is big and so takes longer to beat.
Like a very large bell that takes time to swing then dong.

A mouse has a lttle heart and takes less to beat.

The largers animal lives a much slower life than the mouse. The quicker the daily life movements the quicker the heart needs to beat.

I am sure you know all this.

mice have smaller bodies than elephants. . Animals with smaller bodies have a faster heart beat than animals with bigger bodies. this is because there is less blood to circulate, hence the heart will need less effort and will automatically beat faster.

Hope this helps!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
