in the human brain, the medulla oblongata lies between the pons-varolii and the spinal cord. a number of motor fibres( nerves carrying impulses from the brain to the different parts of the body ) run from the cerebrum to the spinal cord from one side to the other in the medulla. hence the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body and vice versa. in most of the people, our left side of the brain is dominant over the right side. as a result, we are right-handed. in case of left-handed people, their right side of the brain is dominant over the left side. thus, the given quotation is true.
