I think that the boss who initially hired you is supposed to have given you the raise. Usually after 90 days you get a review and you can voice your concerns and they tell you how your performance has been. Also, the 6 month or the yearly review is also a good time.

But, I think you should have a conversation with both of these managers.(ask for a little meeting) Tell them that when you began as a receptionist you had understood the responsibilities of that position. You have now taken on more of an office management role. ( Kind of an Administrative Assistant. ) You believe that a monetary compensation would be in order. Tell them you have enjoyed your job since it began and believe that the raise is with merit. You have proven yourself as dependable and dedicated to the success of the office.

I don't think you should voice your financial personal crisis. Most managers would not think its their concern. (I said most..) You have to show professionalism and have a little pride.

Good luck..

Yea--write down what you do in the company. Every smallest detail. Have you taken on more responsibility since you started there?
Also let them know what your intentions are. How are you going to better the company in the next few months? What are you working toward.
The idea of studying real estate was a great suggestion.
Show some initiative into bettering yourself and the company.

well sweetie, it seems that you just have to let them know that you dont really want to do it but that you have to ask because you really need the money. Exactly dont know how you can ask, but just kind of tell them that you are having a hard time financially and that you would like a raise that you approached someone else (the person that hired you) and they directed you towards them... Just be truthful you know? If they cant and wont i would reconsider staying there. But you know what? that is happening to me right now. I have been here for a year now, barely, but i had responsibilities and i was having a hard time financially. I started thinking about getting a new job but it was hard for me to tell my boss because i really like him and everyone at work. I work in an offiec and too am a receptionist. I love my job, much. I hated the thought of leaving but i need money.... i told a co-worker that i was thinking of leaving and guess what? he told his boss.. and guess what? his boss came up to me and asumed i was leaving and i told him that i wasnt but i was thinking about it and that my boss didnt know yet. Soon enough, MY boss came up to me and asked me if i was leaving so i had to be open with him. I told him i was having a hard time financially and that i really didnt want to leave that i loved it here but i had to. He then called me over to his office and said that he liked me. That I was perfect for the job and everyone here likes me too. He said that if i needed more money that he will give me more money. WHat are the odds of that. I am happy and grateful. It may or may not happen to you but it seems like you have to ask. But again sweetie, if they dont start looking for another job and then when you find one give your two weeks notice and quit. ok? Good Luck!

Spiritually speaking, you're an worker, and consequently concern on your boss. the employer isn't doing nicely, and additionally you assume the boss to offer you a enhance. issues have of course replaced financially for the employer because of the fact the promise became into made, and that's unlucky. Do you like your activity? stay and p.c.. up some area-time artwork. waiting to toss in the towel? then you are already no longer giving your boss a hundred% stable success mr. threshing floor !

Explain to them that you'd like to earn more money and ask them if there's any way you can do that there. Why don't you study real estate while you're twiddling your thumbs there, and take the test and become an agent.
