Because he is another hippy who bases all his ideas on a science that's only tracked 100 years of the world's 5 billion-plus life. In the 1970s scientist thought we were heading for an ice age and one scientist actually suggested melting the ice caps to heat the world up again! What's also remarkable is 95 percent of the meterologists in the U.S. do not believe climate changes are directly related to global warming. How someone can tell us what is going to happen with the weather in 100 years is beyond me. Go figure Al Gore, who pouted like a little boy after losing an election, would be the one to tell us the world is getting too hot.

Al Gore is trying to pleasing an audience. Sometimes you have to exaggerate and lie in order to please an audience. It's true that scientists have to make a choice between effectiveness and honesty. The human brain doesn't accept scientific fact as easily as it accepts simple-to-understand lies.
Of course, global warming is a reality, but not to the extent that Al Gore proposes. Greenland will probably never 'melt' completely, it will only lose a little land here and there.
It's too bad. There are real problems in global warming to consider; but the crowd can't solve them, and the crowd probably won't (even when aware).

Al Gore has his own agenda. He is following the money just like several scientists are. If these scientists can convince enough people that humans are doing all this damage, they get job security, money, and more.
It is all about the money, even if it is false.
When it starts to get cooler and cooler over the years, I am wondering how this will equate into their "global warming" scheme.

What makes you blindly believe these scientists? They have been wrong before..... Wouldn't hurt to take Gore's thoughts to mind and maybe do a little " saving the planet" of our own. We can all contribute something and we must.
For me.. I am walking more, taking my bike more.. and driving my car less. I am also recycling anything I can.
What are some of you doing/

Ya gotta love a questioner who references "reputable scientists" without providing a link.

but see what is happening....you're talking about him and we're talking about him. He is on the news again and getting nominated for noble prizes and oscar awards. He is important once again when just a year ago nobody cared if he lived or died. Democrats always have had a thing for celebrities, so if it takes a few anti-american comments or lies in a movie to gain celeb support, so what?

He's and anti-Bush lemming. He doesn't give two hoots about "global warming". It's "Chicken Little" in real life.
Who cares about reputable scientists when there is an agenda to achieve.

How can the truth be crazy? If a scientist says it wont happen, should'nt we doubt their reputation, or educational background?

Do you know that reputable scientists disagree with those scientists? and global warming is now widely accepted as accurate?
Or do you just not care about the planet?
