No big surprise that since you play volleyball, you'd think basketball is boring. I played some basketball coming up, and could never get the hang of volleyball. So, hmm, why don't they abolish volleyball?!?!
Unfortunately, women's basketball doesn't get the same support and coverage here that men's ball does. But women's basketball is a very popular NATIONAL sport, besides providing entertainment and exercise for women and girls in all areas at all levels of play.

I've watched both college volleyball and women's basketball and it's no contest basketball should be empathized- sorry. Here would be my point- both can be exciting. However, in terms of spectator sports- more casual sports fans understand basketball than volleyball. Volleyball is wonderful to watch, but the casual fan will never be as interested. Plus, beach volleyball seems to be preferred over the inside version. Blame Misty May and Kerri Walsh for the lack of interest in indoor volleyball and not Candace Parker and Diana Taurasi.

It wouldn't make sense to abolish girls basketball... I covered quite a few girls games as a reporter, and found that games between good teams were sometimes better than the boys. Actually, girls bball is a little more fundamental because the game is never played above the rim. While volleyball appears more suited for girls, the real excitement is the spandex shorts rather than the game itself.

No,both sports are good to have. There should be options for everyone. They aren't in the same season so it doesnt really matter anyway. Girls basketball is competitive too, I won't say it is better than volley ball, but why would you get rid of it? Basketball keeps you in shape, teaches you skills, being on a team, a lot of things.

No, there is a market for women's basketball, not to mention that girls deserve multiple sports options, just like how boys with different setes of athletic skills have football, track, and basketball available to them.

Of course not! Even though even I believe that boys basketball if more fast-paced and exciting to watch, many girls love the sport and are good at it too. Just because something is boring doesn't mean that it should banished forever!

I thing there is a place for both. As for sport in general there are a lot of girls that play basketball and it would crush them if their sport was abolished.
