Don't think St Louis will deal to a division rival would they?

We're gonna need some grit and intensity for those tough playoff games! With Tkachuk out of the picture now, its gonna be on Bill Guerin. It's not gonna be cheap but I think it will be worth it, assuming St Louis will actually deal Bill to Detroit! As for Gary Roberts, think we need someone more long term as it's not just a playoff need but a regular season one too to protect/compliment Dats and Zettie and as good as Gary is, he's on his last legs and he ain't Chris Chelios. These are nervous times and I hope StevieY and Holland will do the right thing.

I would be surprised if St. Louis were willing to deal with Detroit given they are in the same division unless Detroit was willing to give up a lot. I don't see many holes in the Wings. I think with what they have now, they are a solid cup contender. I don't think they'll make much noise at the deadline, but ya never know I guess.

As a big Red Wings fan, I'm hoping to see us pull in a Top-6 Forward type player. We're set in goal (as long as Hasek/Osgood stay healthy) and on defense. Right now our only consistent scoring line is the top line of Holmstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg... which definitely needs remedied prior to the playoffs. We're also going to need some grit in order to play with the intensity that some hard-fought playoff series call for.
That is why I really would have liked to see us bring in a power forward type like Keith Tkachuk or Todd Bertuzzi, but now it doesn't look like thats gonna happen. Bill Guerin is still available, but based on upon what Atlanta gave up in order to get Tkachuk, I dont think the Wings will bite.
I wouldn't mind seeing Gary Roberts suit up in a Wings uniform, as long as the the price was cheap. There have been whispers that Edmonton is looking to deal Ryan Smyth too, which would be clutch but doubtfully cheap.
In my opinion I think a trade is vital to success in the playoffs. This weekend showed that Nashville is going to be a tough opponent and we need to get a little edge. I have faith in Holland, I feel he'll do the right thing.

Bertuzzi if they could get him would be a great addition.....Of course Guerin will help any team he plays on, but the only thing Detriot needs to make a strong run is a top 6 forward, and Bert (if healthy) dictates the flow of the game.

i am a huge red wings fan, and even though i would love to see a new guy on the team, the wings dont really need one and they probably couldn't afford one. plus right now they nead to worry about resigning datsyuk
