I think he needs to think about the reality of his situation. He's a nice pass rusher, good for maybe 8-10 sacks a season (at best). Is he top 5 at his position? No. Is he top 10? Maybe, but probably not. Is he facing a probable 2-4 game suspension at the beginning of the season? Yes. All things considered, he should probably tone down the rhetoric and take what he can get this year, keep his nose clean, and look for the big score next year. And if somebody out there is willing to give a 1st and 3rd round pick for him, be my guest.

I understand where he's coming from. He wants the team he plays for to show that they want him there. Carl Peterson and the Chiefs haven't done that. I, as a Chiefs fan, would really like to see him stay. With him and Hali on the other side of the line the Chiefs could have a devastating pass rush next year. The other DE for the Chiefs, Hicks and Wilkerson, don't have the speed off the corner or the natural ability to find the ball that Allen has. If he does get traded it will hurt the defense.

Jared Allen just feels unwanted. The Chiefs are trying to pull a Patriots here. They don't want to tie up a lot of money in Allen. Fact of the matter is a lot of teams are transitioning into the 3-4 defense and Allen just doesn't fit that scheme. Money is given to premier pass rushing ends in the 4-3 and OLBs in the 3-4. He is certainly not one of the best at his position. I wish there were more loyalty in this sport (see San Diego letting Rodney Harrison leave) but there isn't and you can't just ask for a trade whenever your feelings get hurt.

initially leagues that have IDP's are dumb as ****. secondly if he's the desirable IDP why the hell would you commerce him for a midsection of the p.c.. rusher. 0.33 of all you're loopy in case you think of every person is going to commerce an elite WR (wayne, johnson, fitzgerald) for ryan grant and a few scrub

That guy is a beast, anywhere he goes he will be great and make the team better. He deserves more money too, after what he did last year. He's just trying to go somewhere he'll be appreciated.
