I am 38 and 4 days i am 4 cm dilated the doctor said he can not induce till 39 weeks i am hurting but they said i am not having contractions he told me i could go to the hospital but he is not sure if they will keep me what should i do

If i was you i would go to the hospital to make sure that you and the baby will be ok.

I would go to the hospital. I have been told my my doctor that they will admit you when you are 4cm dilated. They admitted me at almost 4 cm and I was having irregular contractions. It cant hurt to go to L&D. They might have you walk around for a bit. Good luck !

How are you hurting?
That would help us tell you how to help it.
If you are not bleeding, your pulse rate is under 100, your water has not broke, your not having contractions, the baby is moving..
Then I would stay home.

.....With pelvic pain you can soak in the tub...if someone is in the house.
You can try laying on your left side.
You can lay on your back on the floor with two pillows under your half bent legs.
If you have a birthing ball it will help to sit on it for 30 minutes.
If your husband can rub your feet stressing under the toes and the ball of your foot.
Stand 6-12 inches from the wall and press forward like a push up. Keep your feet flat on the floor.

First relax and enjoy some time to yourself before the baby comes. Next, get moving. Walking helps move everything along. You don't want them to start inducing before the baby is completely ready. I understand that you are in pain but whats more important. People swear by sex and I had sex everyday for 2 weeks and nothing happened. My son was 2 weeks late. I had pain but felt that the baby must not be ready to come if I haven't gone into labor. And if you are dialted, thats agood sign things are moving in the right direction. Good luck

That really stinks that your doctor wont do anything til 39 weeks,, What I did when I was at 3 cm I went shopping at wal-mart, by the time I was done I was ready to go to the hospital,,, So I would do as much walking as possible

I went in on a Friday morning at 11:00 am for a Non rigidity try, as i became into 2 days late. i became into no longer dilated or effaced in any respect!!! That evening I felt crampy - by utilising 8:40 5 am Saturday (under 24 hours later) i became into keeping my appealing son.

You should go to the hospital, anything > 4cm is considered to be eminent. Look at this way, if they don't want you to stay, at least you have a second opinion

CONGRATS!!! You'll be having your baby soon! I know this sounds bad but have sex! It helps bring on labor. Take a long walk that'll help bring on labor too. Go to the hospital and get it checked out, if your in pain its best to get checked out so it dont get any worse. Good Luck!
