Speak with yourself honestly. Say out loud, I'm hurting inside. Make a list of all the things you are upset over. Cross out all the things in your past or things you can't change - you need to release things you feel responsible for that are not in your relm to change. Instead of therapy, try helping others. Help your kids with a school project or volunteer at their school. By replacing your negative feelings with positive ones you will be breaking the cycle. Also, have you brought this up with your doctor? Many times depression can be triggered by a chemical imbalance or other physical problem. Since my brother started taking a prescription for anxiety, he is different person and able to live his life to the fullest. Either way, please don't think you are alone. Good luck and you will be in my thoughts.

Please don't think I'm being rude but...you might have been molested as a child in which case I suggest hypnosis...or (don't stop reading cos I'm not making fun of you) maybe you are gay! Well, if not, listen...you have to spend time by yourself, and determine where this pain is coming from because no therapist will tell you that; it's on you to figure it out! And no matter what it is, you have to be honest with yourself, no matter how annoying or unconventional or hurtful it might be...you know what they say, it will get worse before it gets better!!! So, if you really really want to find out what is wrong, you have to be ready for the possibility that your world might collapse. But that's OK, cos you can rebuild it. Talk to your wife and ask for her support cos you won't be able to do it all on your own. Also, get some books on spirituality etc. Most important, whatever you might find, don't be afraid of it, even if it doesn't concur with your current values, beliefs etc. And only once you find out what it is, you will be able to put your mind at ease. Also, once you find out what exactly it is that makes you unhappy, only then you will be able to determine whether to follow it or not (and if you don't follow it, at least you will know what it is and you will have made a conscious decision instead of not knowing and letting it eat you up). Plus the great part of soul searching is that no one has to know what you found! So good luck and hope this helped.

Since you go to church I can give you some advice. In life there will be obstacles and the devil is always out to make you upset and troubled. Life is always going to be like that- that's why heaven is supposed to be paradise- no more worry and pain.
As for your emotional hurt, stuff like that lingers. If you can figure out where the root of the trouble is and talk with them or deal with it you'll be good to go. I'm sure you're a great father/husband. Just pray about it and go seek counseling of the wise... Therapists... just sucking money away... Or talk to your wife. She'll understand.

It sounds to me like you need a NEW doctor, or therapist. You're depressed, plain and simple. Get the help you need, if you have to go to every Doctor where you live. Life is too short for the kind of pain you're having. Good Luck!!

You say you belong to a good church. Does your preacher or other members encourage you or assist you in any way?
You need people around you to enourage you and lift you up. People who will be there when you need a helping hand. And you know you can always go to God for assistance with anything! Just call on him in prayer, and he will lift your burdens and take care of you. He may not take away the problems completely, but he can help you to cope with them.
Keep going to your therapy and loving your family. â¥

You could have a chemical imbalance that only medication can regulate. Many people suffer from this. If you are in therapy now ask if there is any medication they can give you to help. If you are no longer in therapy, please go back and try this option.

You need to get a new Therapist to help you through this. You sound very depressed, and people can be depressed even when it looks like everything should be fine to other people. you may need to try a anti-depressant , talk to your MD and see if you can find another therapist. Good Luck

life is how you put it... you make life negative... things in life become negative... make life positive... life sure turns out positive... i dont know if it'll work for you but it works for me... try a little change... change of attitude... listen to positive things for a while... and if someone yells at you... try not yelling back... piont your anger at something you really dont like... but try it... be a bit more positive about life...
