5W30 might be a little thin for an old engine unless you live in Antarctica or Minnesota. 10W30 should be good. Not 15W40. Thicker oil doesn't flow as well or as soon, or get into tight spots as well.

Umm - I think Mobil1 comes "labeled" in more than one grade. i have some Mobil1 15w-50 on my shelf that i put in one of my motorcycles. 5w-vs 10w. i would say it depends on the mileage, climate and how you drive. if the car is low mileage - and you drive easy - touring on Sunday - go with the 5w30. if you live in a cold climate - definitely go with the 5w. if you live in the South - or the desert - or drive hard - or high miles - use the 10w30. the post that says there "is only one grade" may be right. they do however label the bottles with grade numbers so you can buy whichever one you want. the SAE 5w's - 30's, 40's etc are developed around the behavior of petroleum oils - and really don't apply very well to the synthetic oil chemicals.

I'd use 5w-30.. (they're 10w-30 like amsoils.... is regarded as a straight 30 weight as well)
5w-30 vs 10w-30... only real idea about using 10w-30 over 5w-30 is with a conventional oil.... since 10w-30 will shear less... not something you have to worry much with, with a synthetic..

Mobil 1 comes in only one grade, excellent for a 350 with more
than 50,000 miles. About 5.00 a quart, its the best.
