I try not to, but it is hard not to associate someone with others you've known by the same name.
If I meet a Jermaine, I have a hard time forcing myself not to immediately fear him.
If her name is Paige, I have to keep reminding myself not to assume she's a slut.
I know Pat isn't always a fat woman who yells a lot, but I'm still liable to cringe in memory if you introduce me to one.
And so on.
One has to force oneself to disassociate the person with the name.
Which is why I now forget names instead.

You can't judge people by their names, because people are individuals and just because you know somebody with the same name their not the same person. You get to know the individual first, then on how they behave toward you as well as other then you can form an opinion of them based on your personal knowledge.
