What do you pay for babysitting?

I charge 4 dollars an hour. Is that high or low in your opinion?

1-2 kids ~ $5.00/hour
Each additional child ~ $1.25/hour

*When you are babysitting a baby under 10 months old, you should ask to be paid a bit more than your regular charge, since you must give more attention, change the baby, feed the baby, and put the baby to bed.

I think 4 dollars per hour is a bit low.

I wish I only paid 4 dollars an hour ... lol ... in most cases I usually end up paying anywhere from $5 - $10 (or even more sometimes) per hour ... per kid ... babysitting is a big deal ... I pay for what I get ... I want a great provider - some one who knows how to take care of my girl, have fun with her, knows what to do in case of an emergency, can drive and is available for over-nights ... !

Very low. For 1 child, I used to typically get between $15 and $18 per hour, depending on age.

it all depends on the situation..if you babysit like 1 kid thats goo but if its like 3 or more i would charge 8 or 9 an hour

I think that rate is about average; it is certainly cheaper than leaving your kid with a nanny. Also, can you really put a price on the peace of mind of knowing your child is being cared for by someone who will look after them responsibly?

Low. Someone's taking time out of their day, where they could be doing something else and instead they are going to your house to watch your children, you should at least pay minimum wage.
