When the Heat won the Championship last year, very close to everybody jumped on the band wagon and said they were Heat fans all along. So many people do that and just try to fit in. Do you believe it will be like that when the next team wins the championship?

It depends on what type of basketball fan you are.

1. If you're a true partisant, you'll cheer for your home team, even if they really suck.

If you're of that type and your hometown team really suck, there are big chances you will cheer for another team in the playoffs, cause your team just won't make it there. I don't think it's to fit in, I simply think you can have a fave team for the regular season and one for the playoffs if that 1st team doesn't make it there

2. You have the other type of player who will cheer for whatever team they feel like liking at the beginning of the year.

No matter what they did the year before, they will cheer for another team the year after if they see one is better.

3. You also have that type of fan who only cheer for winning teams. for example, if he was to cheer for Dallas and Dallas was to win, he would, for that specific game, cheer for the other team.

Personally, I don't have any hometown/state team. Last year, I was cheering for the Mavs, but the year before, I was cheering for the Spurs... Why? Simply because the Mavs didn't make it to the finals. Simple as that.

You gotta go with the teams that make it to the finals!

It happens that way every year..especially in cities where there are no NBA teams...I'm in Kansas City, and every year somebody switches "their favorite teams". One year, you see everybody wearing Lakers gear, then they route for the Spurs, or go around chatting DEE-TROIT BASKETBALL! And then they're shouting Wade is the best player in the league...who knows who'll win this year but best believe they'll be bandwagoners following them.

Its like that when any team wins a championship, mysteriously every fair weather fan and dis-interested sports fan is all of a sudden a fan of that team. It happens in every sport, every year.

That team might surely make the playoffs, yet no longer neccesairily make the Finals. supply them approximately 4 years to mature and particular. God, if that got here approximately, the squaddies may well be much greater unfavorable.
