I have an interview at a bank for a customer service job tomorrow and wondered if anyone has any questions that i may be asked. I already have 'why do you want to work here? Give us an example of great customer service you have give, or recieved. What difficult situations have you resolved and how.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Banks often use competency based interviews these days. So they may say: competencies required for customer service jobs are team working, good customer service, self motivation, prioritisation skills and suck like.

Then, as was already suggested in your question, the questions will ask you to give an account of times when you have exhibited these competencies.

1. What do you think is the most important attribute when working in a customer facing situation?

2. How would you manage an angry customer who was shouting?

3. What are your computer skills?

4. How do you think you can best look after your customers' needs?

(by knowing what kinds of accounts are available and any promotions etc. that you can inform them about)

5. Tell us a little of what you know about our business.

6. How would you deal with a customer who had special needs? eg. blind, deaf etc.

Hope that helps a bit!

Remember to smile as soon as you enter the room, 'cos the first 10 seconds is what they take most note of!

Good luck.

What qualifications do you believe will help you perform this job?
What are your career goals?
What job would you eventually like to have?
What changes, if any, would you make if you were hired?
How did you hear about this opening?
How would you handle this situation?...(Then they give you one)
Are your hours flexible?
Why do you want this job?
Do you know anyone that works here?

One tip a lot of folks don't know. Unless the answer is REAL OBVIOUS..... Pause before you answer a question. This gives you a chance to think about what you want to say.

Good Luck!

Make sure that you research the company and have some questions for them as well- They'll ask.
I work for a staffing agency and interview people all day long.
