i just got an ipod shuffle for my b-day and i have no idea how to get the songs onto it HELP!!! i've downloaded itunes already but everything just looks the same

Start up itunes and connect your ipod via the USB docking cable to your computer. Itunes should recognize it so you can initialize it.
Then use file->import to select a directory where you have mp3 files and itunes will add them to its library. Finally you can drag those songs or playlists onto the ipod icon on the left side.

well you have to add songs to your playlist on itunes. Then You have to plug in you ipod to the computer by using USB cord (that what cord). Then your ipod should pop up on the left side of your screen....then you click the ipod...it should look like your ipod (a small pic of it). Then click on that. You will see on your screen your ipod....and there are tabs that say summary, music, podcast and contacts. CLick on manually manage music or what ever you want. You then have to create a play list. so you go to File...New PLaylist. or If you want to put all the purchased music or top played or whatever on your ipod. Then go to the tab that says music on it and you can wither sync them. and check of what you want. after those stuff.....you right click the little ipod picture on the side and click save if it has one there....and if it doesn't i think it automatically saved into you ipod or shuffle....ehhhall this stuff might be kinda confusing so i hope i helped a little bit. I have an i pod mini so i think there both the same as far as putting music in it goes so. If you dnt understand all this stuff or I confused you...you should just read the directions..lol or there is a tutorial somewhere I think it's at www.apple.com

when you have itunes open and plug in your shuffle - you can name it whatever you want
once you have imported songs into itunes you can just drag and drop them into your shuffle
if i can do it - any one can!

Just plug the shuffle into a usb port and it should automaticly update it for you.
