this movies was about a woman who was wrongfully convicted for murdering i think her husband...as she is awaiting execution someone takes on her case and finds her innocent..but not before she is executed...really sad movie but has stayed with me all thesse years and I would really like to see it again...anyone know its name?

It sounds a lot like "I Want to Live!" The woman was executed in 1955. There was a movie made about it in 1958 and a TV movie remake in 1983 with Lindsay Wagner.
