Honestly?

Most Olympian figure skaters are already well trained and have skated in many competitions by your age. I wouldnt hold my breath.

It may depend in large part just how you define "success". However, whether you can be successful or not really isn't important anyway.

Think about your life twenty years from now. There are three broad possibilities.

One, you could well be successful. Obviously that would be good.

Two, you might not be successful, despite making a commitment to your dream, and doing everything humanly possible to achieve it.

Three, you might just give up on your dream, and live the life that the people around you might want you to live.

Personally, if the choice were between Two (with a possibility of One) or just Three, my pick would be Two.

It's better to fail at what you really want to do than to succeed in a life you care nothing about.

Go for it. You won't regret trying ten years from now, but you WILL regret not trying.

For being so old starting out probably not. But if you start practicing for about 6 hours a day on real ice, then maybe you might be ready by the time you turn eighteen, but don't expect the Olympics, maybe Sesame Street on Ice though (they make good money).

You are bit late for that, but you never know. If you want it then do it, you will never know what will happen till you try.
