Do you look for looks, or for personality first, or any other ideas, please specify, and why?

Looks are what are first noticed of course, but after that, I am looking for someone emotionally, mentally, and physically tough.. so that I know he can deal with me.

I like intelligent, funny, honest and confident people. Who are neither ashamed to be who and what they are or worried about what and who you believe they are... Non judgmental for selfish reasons, I guess sums it up?
Too many people are always walking around knocking others, using assumed generalizations like "arrogant" and "snob" and what not... Just because they are showing self confidence and exhibiting their understanding.
I think that it is a beautiful thing when someone is confident and secure and I don't like the kinds of people who use words and assumptions to try and deface that for a personal agenda, just because that person's confidence makes them feel insecure or less than. I believe in allowing a person to be what they are trying to become... Even if they are not quite there yet.
I like confidence and arrogance or whatever it is usually perceived as by the uninitiated and jealous?
It is human nature to judge and be jealous or insecure... But I also believe that human nature should be in a constant state of tempering and intentionally kept in check... (yes I realize I just made a judgement of them, myself)
Mistakes are mistakes but some people just hate to see anyone succeed or evolve. Like gossips and nit pickers who throw out accusations that are exactly what they themselves are and disguise by always trying to be better than everyone else...
I guess I just inadvertently told you what I both like and dislike in a person as a potential mate? Sorry...

as in, looking for in attractiveness? their personality. I like an intelligent person. Intelligence is an attractive quality. Their personality enhances their looks. Personality goes a long way.

Looks are nice, but it's not the most important.
I look for intelligence, sensitivity, kindness, humorous personality, well-roundedness, someone who can think "outside the box".
