sex and the city for the girls and sopranos for the boys.......for the most part.
In there own right every one else is right also. These 2 are the best as far as overall popularity, not neccessarily individually

Carnivale was the best series but they dropped it after two seasons - it was scheduled for seven but apparently every episode was too expensive to make because they always shot at different locations. This show was about the ultimate battle between good and evil and who knows how much better it would have gotten over time.

I agree that Band of Brothers was the best, but if we can only pick from that list it would be the Sopranos.

I think the adaptation of George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series will be a very good HBO show.
