It sounds like you have joined the sinusitis club that has about 37 million members. Chronic sinusitis is caused by allergies or physical obstruction of the sinus cavities by polyps, swollen tissues, or naturally-narrow sinuses. The most common symptoms are nasal congestion, puffiness around the eyes and cheeks, headaches, and post-nasal drip. Its amazing how common this condition is, yet it is often overlooked by doctors.

To seek relief, you need to determine the cause. You can start with allergies. Try an over-the-counter antihistamine such as claritin, a nasal decongestant such as sudafed (12-hour), and and expectorant (Mucinex). The symptoms should improve within a day or two if allergies are the cause.

If you are fainting, you may also have a low-grade infection that commonly occurs from clogged sinuses. If so, it might clear up on its own once the congestions goes away. But, you may need antibiotics if there is sign of infection.

If the combination of antihistamine, decongestant and expectorant don't work, then its time to go to an otolaryngologist to look at you sinus cavities. They will usually start with an MRI of the sinuses to see if there are signs of chronic infection, swelling, or obstructions. They can also prescribe steroid-based nasal sprays that work miracles for some people.
