No it is not illegal I was meant to catch my daughter but the stupid midwife didn't read my wife's birth plan but yes they are allowed and it is a great thing to do I'm sure i hope the father can do it make sure you make it clear to the midwife it is your plan to do that

I'm sure that you can do that. Your best bet is to talk to your midwife when you go for your next appointment.

No, it is not illegal but if the birth is in a hospital the staff may be reluctant to allow it because of the possibility of litigation if something goes wrong.

i would leave it to the midwife you'll just get in the way// so just wait when Bab is all cleaned up and presented to you to hold at your leisure
