Talent in general is mostly hard work. There are people who get a faster start then others, but it ultimately boils down to plain hard work. The harder you work at something the more 'talent' you'll have.
I.e. Look at Micheal Jordan, this is a guy who didn't even make the high school basketball team, But he ended up being one of the best player in the sport!
another i.e. my old man made the 1980 olympic team (which unfortunately was boycotted) and a lot of people said he just had a lot of talent in swimming. What they didn't know is he spent 6 hours swimming a day everyday.
So if you want 'talent' in hockey go and work as hard as you can and spend as much time as you can on it. You'll began to show the real 'talent' for the sport.

Anyone can play hockey but it depends at what level. If you wanna play street hockey it shouldnt take much talent. Ice hockey is different, you have to obviously know how to ice skate well, stop on a dime and play the game with rules in hand. So ice hockey you need talent, street hockey not so much.

I'm sure anyone who wanted to give it a shot COULD play hockey, just not very well.
NHL players are some of the most talented athletes in professional sports. They play hockey and are trained from a very young age all around the world. Its a very competitive league to get into. Their are hundreds of minor league teams across the globe filled with players itching to get in on the action.
Oh yeah, and you have to know how to skate backwards to play hockey.

Anyone can learn to play hockey, its the playing on the ice thats difficult. You need to be able to skate well, and have at least some coordination and athleticism to keep up with play.

You don't have to be talented in order to play for the Ottawa Senators. You only have to be willing to cheap shot the opposing team. You don't even have to be able to fight, since everyone on that team is afraid to (except for their goalie, who happens to be the only real man on the team).
Everywhere else, the most important things are knowing how to skate fairly well (and be able to change direction quickly) and how to handle the puck. Outside of those things, the most important aspects are knowing WHERE to be and HOW HARD you play.

Basically anyone can play but you have to be talented or have worked really hard to ever get very far. Applies to most sports....just how it is lol.

Yes anyone can play it, but some people are better than others because of better hand to high cordination, fitter, faster, can read the game better, etc.

You get out of it what you put into it-even talented players have to practice-don't skip the simple drills and don't forget learning how to skate before shooting.
