I always say that my friend has come for a visit.
My boyfriend calls it my girlie time. He uses the phrase every carefully though so that he never in any way offends me. He's so cute! Smart man though. He knows when not to ask about it or blame something I did on it!!

I say my Aunt Flo is either coming, or is here for a visit! It keeps things pretty discreet and doesn't embarass my husband. Yet, it still gets the point across!
